Michael Yannacopoulos, Dipl’T, AAT
Michael graduated from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and received the Diploma of Technology in Financial Management – Accounting Option in 1981. While working as an accountant in public practice Michael was also certified as an Associate Accounting Technologist (AAT) by The Certified Management Accountants Society of British Columbia in 1986, and is currently a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia, Canada. He founded our firm in 1982 and has personally developed it to the successful business it is today. Michael now devotes his efforts full-time to building and improving this public accounting practice.
Bal Johal, CPA, CGA
Primary objective of Bal is building strong relationships, adding value to businesses and helping clients reach their true financial potential. Bal joined Yannacopoulos Accounting Services in 2013 providing accounting, advisory and tax services to our diversified clientele. She qualified as a Certified General Accountant in BC in 2011. Bal graduated from Kwantlen Polytechnic University, in 2009, with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. She is fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi.
Besides her work, Bal enjoys playing tennis, hiking, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
Suraj Giddha, CPA
Suraj joined Yannacopoulos Johal Accounting Services Inc. as Senior Manager in early 2025 and was promoted to Partner as of July 1, 2025. His professional history includes nearly five years with KPMG’s Enterprise practice in downtown Vancouver, where he progressed to Audit Manager and led engagements for clients across retail, real estate, technology, and manufacturing.
At Yannacopoulos Johal, Suraj provides expertise in corporate and personal tax compliance, review and compilation engagements, bookkeeping, payroll, GST/PST compliance, and strategic tax planning. He is committed to delivering practical, tailored solutions and building long-term client relationships grounded in trust.
Outside of his professional role, Suraj enjoys engaging with the local business community and has a passion for mentoring future accounting professionals.
